Under the agreement, two countries will enhance the exchange of information on the regulations of the two countries related to foreign labour management, an official said.
Laos and the Republic of Korea agreed on the plan Monday signed by Acting Director General of the Department of Skill Development and Employment under the Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare, Ms Anousone Khamsingsavath and vice president for Competency Development and International Cooperation of the ROK, Mr Kim In Kon and labour officials and experts of both sides.
Addressing the meeting, Ms Anousone said this agreement was one result of the Letter of Intent Labour and Social Welfare between Laos and ROK held on March 7 in Vientiane.
She said under the plan, Laos and ROK will exchange information and experiences in making and updating legislation regarding labour issues including skills development, competency testing, employment promotion and labour market information.
The two sides agreed to enhance the sharing of technical experience on labour skills and staff development, she said.
"We will continue to support Lao personnel in this field", Mr Kim In Kon said.
Korean experts will share experiences in issues of labour, particularly regulation of skills development, skills testing, and employment promotion, he said.
He said the agreement would continue to support capacity building for Lao labour experts and related capacity development in the target groups.
