Md Aiub Ali, 43, made the plea after the charge was read out to him in Malay.
However, judge Noorhayati Mohamad Yunus fixed Feb 20 for mention for the charge to be read out in Bangladeshi before a Special Corruption Court.
Mohd Aiub was charged with offering a bribe of RM228 to Sergeant Mohamad Khir Bachok as an inducement for the policeman to accept a copy of a passport belonging to his wife, by the name of Sri Hayumini, as a personal document for an Indonesian woman who was caught without valid travel document.
The offence was allegedly committed last Feb 1 at the Seberang Perai Utara district police headquarters.
Mohd Aiub was charged under Section 17(b) of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission Act and faced an imprisonment for up to 20 years or fine of not less than five timers the amount of the bribe, or RM10,000, whichever is higher, if found guilty.
