Magistrate Rahni Kartini Abd Rahim meted out the punishment to government retiree Nurshuhadah Phoon Abdullah, 58, and also ordered that she serve three months in jail in default.
The accused had pleaded guilty to concealing the money belonging to Saidon Basman, 26, in her bank account.
She committed the offence at a hotel in Jalan TAR here between Jan 5 and 9, 2019 and was charged under Section 424 of the Penal Code. She was liable to be jailed up to five years or fined or both.
Deputy public prosecutor Ahmad Zikri Jaafar appeared for the prosecution while the accused was represented by counsel Arwa Abdul Rahman.
