These Regulations come into operation on 23 October 2018.

TRADE DESCRIPTIONS (CERTIFICATION AND MARKING OF HALAL FEES) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS 2018

In exercise of the powers conferred by paragraph 69(2)(c) of the Trade Descriptions Act 2011 [Act 730], the Minister makes the following regulations:

Citation and commencement

1. (1) These regulations may be cited as the Trade Descriptions (Certification and Marking of Halal Fees) (Amendment) Regulations 2018.

(2) These Regulations come into operation on 23 October 2018.

Amendment of regulation 2

2. The Trade Descriptions (Certification and Marking of Halal Fees) Regulations 2011 [P.U. (A) 432/2011], which are referred to as the "principal Regulations” in these Regulations, are amended in regulation 2-

(a) by inserting after the word "under” the words "subparagraph 7(1)”; and

(b) by inserting after the words “[P.U. (A) 431/2011]’’ the words "and for related matters”.

Substitution of Schedule

3. The principal Regulations are amended by substituting for the Schedule the following Schedule:

(A) 3,000 to 10,000 chickens or other poultries, or rabbits

(B) 500 to 700 goats, sheep or deer

(C) 50 to 100 cattle, buffaloes or camels

(iii) large industry:

(A) more than 10,000 chickens or other poultries, or rabbits

(B) more than 700 goats, sheep or deer

(C) more than 100 cattle, buffaloes or camels
