The court’s rejection of their appeal ended any hope the two journalists may have had to reverse their convictions.
Their only hope for freedom now is through a presidential pardon.
The journalists’ lawyer, Than Zaw Aung, said the court gave no reason for rejecting the appeal.
Wa Lone and Kyaw Soe Oo were convicted by the Northern Court of Yangon District last September.
“We tried our best through the legal process, but we can’t do any more as this is the highest court of Myanmar,” Than Zaw Aung said.
Reuters news agency vowed to continue fighting for the two journalists’ freedom.
