The first national law students conference of Myanmar will be hosted for law students from all universities in Myanmar on April 28, according to organiser Ko Kaung Myat Arkar from the Dagon university law students association.
‘’We aim to unite all law students in this conference and then try to become a member of Asian Law Students Association (ALSA).
“A Myanmar student attended as an observer at their conference last year. After the conference, we will try to be an official member,” he said.
The conference will allow the exchange of information among law students as well as their understanding and knowledge regarding several forms of legal issues and how to solve the difficulties of law students at work.
It will also give an opportunity for students to develop volunteerism with different social communities, and to establish a compact and substantial relationship between international students with a collaborative program among the different countries.
The conference would be attended by experts from the law sector and two students from ALSA will present and share about the legal system of their country.
Law students from Yangon, Dagon and Taunggyi universities will host the conference which has invited 18 law departments from all universities in Myanmar and would be attended by 200 students, according to the organisers.
