The first of these talks on legacy or estate planning will cover wills, probate and administration, Lasting Power of Attorney and Advanced Medical Directives.
“As the representative body of the legal profession, SAL hopes to provide opportunities for our members to share their knowledge and expertise through public outreach events,” said Ms Serene Wee, Chief Executive of SAL. “We hope that these public talks will help to ‘demystify’ the law and enable the man-in-the-street to know what resources are available and how and where they can find them to help resolve disputes quickly and affordably.”
SAL also hopes to hold these talks on a regular basis and cover topics relating to criminal proceedings such as illegal moneylending, employment matters, family law, and consumer protection.
The first talk show will be held on 19 Septmber 2018 between 5.30 pm and 7.30 pm at Singapore Academy of Law, The Adelphi, #08-08 1 Coleman Street, S179803.
Mr Richard Siaw, founder and current Managing Director of R. S. Solomon LLC, will speak on topics related to advance planning and estate management. The talk will be in English but Mr Siaw who is bilingual will also take questions in Mandarin.
