CDC spokesperson Udom Rathamarit said today the drafting team has just completed the organic Auditor General Bill and will submit it to the National Legislative Assembly (NLA) on Monday, August 28th.
According to Udom, the new bill allows the Office of the Auditor General and the State Audit Commission to work more collaboratively and efficiently. The former will be in charge of examining the management of financial resources within the public sector and the latter will be responsible for formulating policies and regulations.
The spokesperson noted that the bill includes a clause which suggests that the State Audit Commission is empowered to dismiss Auditors General from their posts on the basis of inefficiency.
Lastly, Udom confirmed that the draft law conforms to the intent of the 2017 constitution.
