BANGKOK, 7th September 2017 (NNT) - The Deputy Prime Minister for Legal Affairs reports the government is expediting its reform work in 11 areas, tasking relevant agencies with presenting plans in line with reform efforts and warning of penalties for non-compliance.

Deputy Prime Minister Wissanu Krea-ngam, in a speech to a mobile Rajabundit academic meeting entitled “The Direction of Thai Reforms”, stated that the Rajabundit Institution is an organization of philosophers and should play a role in matters concerning the nation. He explained to them that the government is pursuing three main reforms: the 11 reform areas of the new constitution, science and sports, and religion and culture, adding that each agency of the state is legally obligated to contribute to the effort and that any personnel who fail to aid in the effort will be punished by being transferred. Severe cases may be forwarded to the National Anti-Corruption Commission for further vetting.

He confirmed reform of agencies and government offices will also take place alongside the larger changes.
