Spokesperson of the Prime Minister’s Office and Deputy Secretary General to the Prime Minister's Office for Political Affairs Puthipong Punnakan, said today that Gen Prayuth was delighted to learn that the new graduate of Maha Sarakham University, Panida Yotpanya had been recruited as an official of the PACC’s Area 4 office in Khon Kaen province. Gen Prayuth praised Ms. Panida for her courage in uncovering graft and asked her to uphold her integrity.
Ms. Panida was in the public spotlight when she exposed embezzlement of state funds reserved for the underprivileged while serving her internship at Khon Kaen Protection Center for the Destitute. The scandal prompted the PACC to examine the fund distribution systems of other protection centers for the destitute, across the country.
The Spokesperson of the Prime Minister’s Office affirmed that the government gives importance to corruption prevention and suppression, and that the PM had instructed agencies in charge to conclude the remaining graft cases as soon as possible, so that the wrongdoers can be punished.
